What should a roofing estimate include?

Proposal formats vary from company to company. Many homeowners want to understand the roofing material and product line, tear-off scope, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, decking allowances, warranties, payment schedule and any exclusions before signing. Not every quote contains every one of these items — the point is understanding what your particular proposal does and does not say.

Can you review my roofing quote?

Yes. Upload the written proposal you already received and we review it as a document — the materials identified, the scope of tear-off and installation, allowances, exclusions, warranty wording and payment terms.

What if my roofing quote doesn't list the exact shingle product?

That is a common observation. If the proposal says something like 'architectural shingles' without naming the manufacturer and product line, the report notes it and gives you the wording to ask your contractor for the specific product.

What is a decking allowance?

The wood decking under a roof sometimes can't be fully assessed until the old material comes off. Many proposals handle this with an allowance or a per-sheet replacement price. The review checks whether those terms are clearly stated so you know what could change the final price.

Why are my two roofing quotes so different?

The total alone doesn't show whether two proposals contain equivalent work. Differences can come from measured roof area, tear-off assumptions, material manufacturer and product line, underlayment, decking allowances, flashing, ventilation, disposal, warranties, exclusions and payment terms. A lower total doesn't automatically mean a better deal, and a higher total doesn't automatically mean a better roof.

Can Learn The Quote tell me if my roofing quote is overpriced?
